QUIT FOR GOOD > OVERCOMING THE BARRIERS
Stay in Control
Smoking doesn't solve your problems, quitting will.
- Quitting is a one-step-at-a-time process.
- Forget about feeling guilty, learn from it and then just forget it.
What if I Slip?
You have not failed - you're a step ahead. The average person attempts to quit five times. Each attempt to quit should be considered a SUCCESS!
What is a Slip?
Slipping is when you are trying to quit but you use some tobacco (usually
in a high-pressure situation), but you recover and stay quit.
What is a Relapse?
Relapse is the return to regular use of tobacco after being tobacco-free for a short while. Most relapses occur within the first three months after quitting.
Learn From Past Experiences
- If you slip and smoke a cigarette, Stop Again
- This was a mistake, not a failure
- Set a new date and get back on track
- Remember your reasons for quitting
