The Mississippi Tobacco Quitline is a telephone & online support service for any Mississippian who is ready to quit tobacco. If you or a friend or family member is ready to stop using tobacco, the Tobacco Quitline staff is available to help. Many Mississippians have contacted the Tobacco Quitline to take advantage of professional help to learn to be tobacco free. Information, referrals and support are confidential, and support sessions are designed on a schedule that is convenient to the caller.
Remember that any Mississippian can call the Tobacco Quitline at 1-800-784-8669 or use the free online support services. The Tobacco Quitline is available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Quitting tobacco is never easy, but with help you are twice as likely to quit tobacco for good.
Healthcare providers interested in a quick and secure way to refer patients may use our fax referral program. The fax referral form is compliant with HIPAA regulations, confidential and easy to use. Once you and your patient sign the form, it can be faxed to the Tobacco Quitline so that staff can contact the patient. Regular progress reports are available to the healthcare provider if requested and will keep you informed on the patient's efforts to quit tobacco. The Mississippi Tobacco Quitline is open Monday through Saturday except for recognized holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
